The core intention of Wild Faith Herbal Wellness is to bring herbs to the people through access to clinical herbal medicine, education and justice. Herbalism is simply the use of plants for medicinal purposes and the study of botany for such use. Plant based medicine is the oldest form of health care, and is an empowering knowledge to know and to share. Wild Faith Wellness provides local access to herbs, herbalism and herbal education in Burlington and Central Vermont communities.
What is herbalism? Herbalism is simply the use of plants to nourish and heal. Herbalism is different in every tradition and culture. Wild Faith Herbal Wellness incorporates many traditions and methods of herbalism, while intentionally integrating practices of cultural relativity and herbal justice.
What is herbal justice? Herbal justice, like food justice, is the empowerment of all people through the creation of self- and community-based freedom over one's own health and well-being in relationship with herbs. As Dana Woodruff, a community herbalist dedicated to social justice, once said, "I also love being part of cultivating a culture of self-care and collective-care within social justice movements..." Herbal justice is about transforming our relationship to healing in a mutual exchange of solidarity, honoring and love. Check out the herbal justice page for more information.
